Our Story

His father's jacket.
Four sizes too big. Wore it anyway.

Zovra didn't start with a business plan. It started with a jacket — one that didn't fit, and a feeling he'd been chasing ever since. The night he picked up his co-founder's jacket, he finally had a name for it.

01The Jacket

Four sizes too big. He wore it to school anyway.

His father's jacket. Full grain, heavy, hanging well past the waist. No kid could pull it off. He didn't care. There was something in the weight, the smell, the way it moved — something that said this matters. He didn't have a word for it then. He just wore it.

His father became a star in 2020.

The jacket is still at home.

“It was too big to wear properly. That never stopped me. It felt like the realest thing I'd ever put on.”

02The Betrayal

Eight jackets. Eight seasons. All garbage.

The moment money stopped being an excuse, he started buying jackets. Proper ones, supposedly. Right tags, right photos, right price point — the kind of thing that looks premium in the store. They cracked by winter. Peeled by spring. Every single one.

He wasn't being careless. The market was being dishonest. Bonded leather. PU over a split hide. Corrected-grain coatings stamped to look like full-grain. Dressed up in good packaging, priced to feel real, built to fail — because failure is repeat business.

Eight jackets. He was still chasing something he'd felt once, as a kid, in a jacket that wasn't even his. And the market kept sending him copies.

03Melbourne. A Shared House.

His co-founder walked in. He picked it up without asking.

Melbourne. Shared house. Two people from different cities — same taste, same obsession with what things are actually made of. His co-founder didn't treat leather as a trend. He grew up around it as a craft — something passed between people who actually knew what they were doing.

One evening he walked in wearing something from home. Rahul picked it up without asking. Felt the grain. The weight. The way it sat in his hands.

That. That was what leather is supposed to feel like. Same quality as his father's jacket. The real thing — not a copy, not a coating, not a marketing decision.

The connections were there. The business infrastructure was there. The vision was identical: stop letting the market sell people garbage in premium packaging. That conversation became Zovra.

“I spent years buying leather that cracked. The moment I held that jacket, I knew what I was supposed to be doing.”

04Sourced from the Source

No catalogues. No middlemen. Found the hard way.

The craft exists. The craftspeople exist. In places the fashion industry doesn't talk about, in workshops that don't run social media campaigns, the knowledge has been passed between hands for generations. The quality is absolutely there — what was missing was a brand willing to go find it.

Contact by contact. Hide by hide. Until the standard matched. Every Zovra piece is full-grain leather — the outermost layer of the hide, with every natural grain marking, every quality that makes leather age instead of crack. Not corrected. Not split. Not bonded. The real thing.

Lifetime repairs. YKK Excella zippers. Double-stitched at every stress point. A piece worth buying is worth standing behind — permanently. No asterisks.
